KOA Head Coming Home to Ewa Beach!!!
QB Maya Gonsalves scores the championships only touchdown!
Congratulations to our Lady Sabers, first ever STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
It was a hard road to the championship game starting with the toughest division (Campbell, Nanakuli, Waianae, Kapolei, and Dreamhouse). The OIA playoffs were nothing short of a challenge as well facing Castle in the quarters, Mililani in the semis, and the third place game against Nanakuli that experienced a game delay, weather delay, and then a pouring rain fnish a couple of days later.
Rusher Shaleah “La” Moore was a pivital part of our defense.
Lead by a strong defense and a versatile offense, the team started the HHSAA State Tournament with Baldwin, then the exciting double overtime win over Kamehameha Kapalama to advance to the semi final game against Mililani who beat us in the OIA semi finals, and finally to the “ship” versus fellow OIA school Leilehua in a tight 6-0 victory.
This inaugural season was one to remember and everyone from players to coaches to refrees have come a long way! Thank you to all that supported girls flag football, specifically the family, friends, community members, and Campbell admin, faculty, staff, and media team for your support of our Lady Sabers!
